Re: Navigating high negative momentum
Building appreciation muscles/ laying new pipes/ building new thoughtways/ calibrating more to my inner beings perspective/ pivoting more to the wanted end of the stick: I appreciate my young supervisor. She's picking up the ropes. Others misinterpret her for being a little abrupt, but I can see tha...

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
I am in the process of constructing my practising thread. Getting over my perfectionist attitude  I have wavered over making the transition to my new job, going over the pros and cons. Which I know does me no good! It just creates wobble, when I would be better off just looking at the pros and ...

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
I've been having a bit of a wobbler today, gone off course, and contrast can piss you off sometimes. Non Abers might just chalk it up, "well life just happens!" or "shit happens." I can also sort of forgive myself for going back to that place where I'm bent out of shape, knee jer...

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
I think there may be a misunderstanding of the word jubbly. In the the phrase "lovely jubbly", taken from an English TV comedy called Only Fools and Horses , lovely jubbly is a good thing. web search: used to express delight or approval, eg. "fish and chips and a few beers on the way...

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
So just really focus on things that feel good (or better).......you get more of that.
Don't focus on things that feel bad (or focus less)......you get less of that.
That simple?

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
I agree so very much with your whole post, Simon! :hearts: And still I want to comment on something which feels as it would fit into my point of "appreciating life" would be MORE joyful (and work faster in most cases) than trying to clean up the unwanted, or even distract from unwanted. I...

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
Appreciation doesn't come easy to me right now, because it is easier to react to circumstances and think my usual crappy feeling thoughts. But in time I could build those Appreciation muscles, even though it's a stretch, like being at the gym!

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
Reflecting on this, there is actually a whole lot of stuff I could appreciate in my daily life. Even my job, which I moan about: it at least puts money in my pocket. I usually go the coffee shop and have a brew after my shift and reflect on my shift, relaxing. I have a roof over my head. Hell, I ev...

Re: Navigating high negative momentum
I go to the gym regularly. I suppose if I'm to use an analogy, it's kind of like that right? My appreciation muscles are underdeveloped and lacking. At first it's difficult, you have to stretch yourself, sometimes, even forcing yourself and you start with the lowest weight and train yourself to bigg...
