(I had delicious quinoa-salad today, as well! With Shrimp and chicken... )
Oh, I love shrimps and chicken. The food sounds wonderful, do you have a recipe for it? Or did you cook it by feel?

The later! I toss a few veggies, diced, (as carrots, kohlrabi, onions, of course garlic, bellpepper, maybe peas etc) into a pot with a bit of butter, roast them, add a bit of a bouillon-cube and add enough boiling water for brewing the quinoa, add that- and let it sit until it's all done. When you like to cook with wild plants, this is a perfect dish to try stinging nettles, goutweed or garlic-mustard (or even real young mustard-leaves). Cut the whole young plants -including the stems- into about 1cm pieces, roast them (with or without other vegetables), add quinoa...FloatingBoat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 12:00 amParadise-on-Earth wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 11:42 pm

I take shrimp and left over chicken in big dices and arrange both on a plate- voila! I LOVE to add a sauce made from natural yoghurt and lemon-juice, topped with (when I have it, it's a bit hard to get in my rural area) fresh cilantro.
BUT I also like the easily bought-from-store salad-pots, that most often come with bellpeppers and raisins, in an oriental style...
I hope that wasn't too much information! Have an awesome day!
Where in the world do English-speakers pronounce it as Tschina?Paradise-on-Earth wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 5:27 am I was a bit flabbergasted by the way to learn that, while we Germans are to pronounce Quinoa as "Kinooa", the English-speakers are to pronounce it as "Tschina" (as Germans pronounce "China")... WHY?
Yes, it was indeed quite similar to how you describe it.Paradise-on-Earth wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 5:27 am I love imagining you singing and dancing Hula, while you cook! That sounds so happy and lovely!
So my pleasure, about the recipe.

In fact, I love making simple activities even more beautiful with dancing and singing, and Hawaiian music is just what makes me really happy at the moment.
(But actually, it is more like my inner being dances and sings through me when I am in vibrational harmony with the flow of well-being.)
Yes, the different pronunciations of people can indeed be interesting and sometimes funny.
While some people around me pronounce China as "schina," I also know some who say "kina."
It gets even more difficult when I consider that each part of Germany has a different dialect. If someone from abroad who has learned German comes to the area where my mother is from (Rheinhessen), where "rhoihessisch" is spoken, they won't understand a word, even though they have learned German. That's absolutely crazy.
Such fun! I wish you both such pleasure and joy in creating your nest!FloatingBoat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 7:09 pm Short Script
What am I looking forward to?
Our Trip to Segmüller
I'm already looking forward to great new carpets that are wonderful and make our apartment so cozy. A blue-gray dream, and a great trip with Lily and my mother, where we have great conversations and get along wonderfully. On our Segmüller trip, we also find many great new ideas for our shared apartment, a lamp for the bathroom, and my mother buys us a great new coffee table that also has blue elements.

Monday, January 13:
• Today we went to the Segmüller furniture market and bought two new carpets: one with a planet motif for our living room and a blue one for our small guest bathroom. Last night I had already written a small script for our trip to Segmüller, and most of the things from this script came true, which makes me really happy. The carpet is truly a blue-grey dream; it looks so magical and makes our living room so cozy. I just love it. The drive and shopping were really pleasant, with cheerful conversations and a relaxed atmosphere. We were also able to gather a lot of inspiration for our shared apartment there, and a new tour is already planned, during which we will get a new coffee table and a new shelf for the kitchen. I am so grateful to my mother for supporting our shared apartment so wonderfully, and I'm happy that we are making our shared apartment more beautiful.

I was puzzled because of this memes, so I looked it up- and the "how-to" youtube-clips teach it that way I described!spiritualcookie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:26 am

Here in the UK, people pronounce it as "kin-wa" or "kin-oh-a", depending on the person.
