a new day, a new adventure...

After a short day at the dunes, the group decided to visit the "Moon-Landscapes" not so very far away. As our guide explained, this is a canyon-landscape shaped by the once mighty Svakop-river. Today the river is still flowing, but under the earth. In some areas it is closer to the surface, and that shaped a natural oasis.

It was an amazing experience to drive into this surreal areal, and finding a real oasis! As it seems to be done often, this places double not just as a place to recharge, but also as an area where old car-wrecks get collected, old tools, or -in this case- even old clothes. I so appreciated the obvious care of the owners for all the artefacts!

I would love to know the stories of all this collected items. In some way, the felt like frozen in time. Humans are a special species... how come that a place in a deadly desert where there is access to water, makes us become whimsical, playful and caring for the past?
Feeling it, it makes sense to me. It feels close to what life really is... it feels close to not just survival, but LIVING. To not just flying on autopilote, but being AWARE and THANKFUL for the details. An "oasis" is so much more than just being saved from dying of thirst... I have so appreciated the opportunity to think about this. To feel and recognize it. To enjoy it with my own beingness.

please notice that the truck on the right stands on a bed of rose quarz-rocks!

On our way here, we saw a handpainted sign "ice cold beer" in the middle of the dry, dusty desert. And now, here we are! It felt so hilarious- even *I* don't like beer- to feel the yearning for an ice-cold-drink! Life can be so good, when you have some basic things!

After our break we drove home in an illegal way... exploring some forbidden roads and canyons with our 4x4 wheelers. But after a while, our guide wasn't so sure that he still knew where we are, and where we needed to head... are we lost? Having 5 cars around me, all filled to the brim with water and gas and men, eager to offer their opinion, I wasn't that scared that we wouldn't make our way out of it, and really, it seemed to not be a thing. BUT it made me aware, that- still, we are "in the worlds most dry (and therefore deadly) desert". Something to keep in the back of our heads.

I so appreciate to never have met the downside of this fact. I so, so, SO enjoy life in a light, happy, rich, safe, luxurious way!!! Thank you, thank you life!

thank you so very much! :hearts: I'm really glad to be ...back?... or even better: FORWARDS in my base... we can't go back, right? :vortex:
As Abe say, the Vortex is always becoming bigger and more, it always moves, and we MUST catch up with "who we really are" when we ever want to be happy.

So, I went "out" and experienced so much, and grew so much, and caught up in ways i couldn't fathom before, and now I am new and more whole and more set up for even more expansion! Life is amazing!

I read that you've been in a not so easy "place" as well, and I love that you caught up, too, and grew, and didn't get eaten! ;) Cheers, to life!! :occasion-balloons: :angelic-green: :tee:

In the next day we had SUCH an awesome, breathtaking, incredibly beautiful experience! AND, it came- for me, out of the blue, as I already "knew" I couldn't share it: Driving quad bikes in the dunes. I knew that I absolutely wanted to experience it, I knew that I absolutely didn't want to drive a quad on my own, and I knew that the quads where strictly for single use! And so, I figured, that I would stay grounded-aka, staying in the base. Until another couple mentioned that they would drive a dune-buggy TOGETHER.

One of the flying teacher looked at me in a second and asked: "Wouldn't YOU want to do that, as well?" Ohhhh YES! But I feared so many things around the setup... but the teacher just organized it on the spot, and there we where- driving the second buggy that they had! Ohhhhh, I was SO HAPPY!!!!

Our quad-group, taking off on another route than the buggies...

Our guide ...and us, in the dune-buggy!

I sooo appreciated the "miracle" to share the fun, it felt like a incredible whirlwind of decisions and action that just changed things around. It was pure surprise and delight, and driving with high speed through the incredible landscapes of the dunes... where you could see NOTHING than sand structures and sky- and in some, rare times your comrads- felt like being in a different world. It was beyond all I had ever known. To be honest, I cried tears of thankfulness, to see and experience this stunning, amazing beauty!

The map of our tour...

I had no idea that the black traces that are to be seen on some dunes are magnetite, a metal that can be assembled by a simple magnet. Our guide collected some of it just from the surface of a dune, turned around and wrote with it on a golden dune this :

I felt SO blessed by all of it! I felt stunned. I felt showered with joy and deep, deep, deep thank fulness. It was so big.

Thank you so very much! I agree. :hearts: But this is a picture not made by me (as all, from this specific experience, are made from our group-mates, except this black- and white one, that is out of the net).

I had looked for something that could capture the incredible beauty of the dune-landscape, as I had my camera not with me, that day (I feared I would lose it on the wild ride!)
