Efforting to maintain a high vibration?
Hi everyone,
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this:
Before starting meditation, I always do some work to raise vibration (doing a round of appreciation, visualizing sending love out to the world etc), and I successfully feel a shift upwards. Then I start the meditation and try to keep that high vibration going by keeping my focus there.
I noticed that it is quite a bit of effort for me to try and keep that high vibration focus going during the meditation. If I relax and stop trying to focus on that high vibration, I feel my vibration sinking back to its everyday setpoint (which is closer to "Neutral" - just below Contentment / Satisfaction).
I wonder if making the effort to focus on the higher vibration during meditation is a good idea?
Efforting is not advised by Abraham. But I want to be on a higher vibration than normal in order to tune into Source and be able to communicate with Source.. to tune into the right "radio station" frequency.
If I relax into my everyday Neutral vibes during meditation and stay there throughout the meditation, will I still be able to tune into Source? or will I be vibrating on the wrong "radio frequency"? I think I will be on the wrong station, right? So am I supposed to make that effort to tune into higher frequencies if my goal is to communicate with my own Abraham / Source during meditation?
-
UPDATE:
I'm reading a book ("Opening to Channel" by Sanaya Roman & Duane Packer) which had a helpful passage in it: I think I was confusing "relaxing" with "losing focus":
"If your mind wanders you may lose the connection.
Until your mind can easily hold the required level of focus, you may need to use your will to keep the connection firm and solid."

Hi dearest one
How does your "effort" FEEL?
I really would make this a feeling-game, rather an intellectual game! (and I know that, of course, you know that! )
..."Effort" is something wild horses couldn't hold us back from when we are in passion and thrilled fascination. Then, we WANT to do this and that and the other!
But I guess you wouldn't ask the question, if you would be THERE. (Because then we say: "Let me at it!!! Go out of my way, I wanna do that!!")
And if you aren't, if this really is "effort" that feels kinda hard and a bit tiring and even like a kind of burden... then you are right. That's not what you want to "send out".
*I* am not a meditator. I never really came to like it. So, maybe I am the wrong person to add here, but I was always under the impression that meditation IS the tool, not the goal towards, where you use tools on the way to? Imo, Abe have described meditation as the fastest way to change energy- in LETTING IT ALL GO. Where there is NO EFFORT at all, where you have no thought. And from there, so Abe say, it is easy for source to bring you into the high stances.
So I wonder if you somehow made work out of the whole thing, instead RELAXATION (the opposite)?
Much much love to you! I think you are such a pioneer, exploring this worlds!

Re: Efforting to maintain a high vibration?
Thank you for your thoughts! How does it FEEL is such a good guideline!
I absolutely agree that everything I've learned from Abraham (and others) say that meditation is about relaxation. And with the focus forced on a higher vibration than comes naturally to me, there is some feeling of tension there.. And tension = resistance so ironically it may be inhibiting free flow of Source!
I'm having trouble fitting in the fact that when I relax I feel very neutral and not high vibration. My worry is that without deliberate focus on high vibration things, I'll just stay neutral and not rise up to be able to receive information from high vibration Source.
Perhaps it's a matter of trust that in good time, my vibration will rise without any deliberate work on my part other than relaxing. Trust, be patient, relax. I guess I can give it a go for a few days and see what happens

exactly! I know this soo well from myself. Strong minds and people who were used to get stuff done have a hard time to REALLY trust that relaxation brings a raising. It is so deeply trained into us that good things take effort and work. BUT that is an old-time paradigm.spiritualcookie wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 7:44 am

I myself NEEDED to try it, over several months, before I was able to let go PURELY (!!). When you don't do that in a really pure way, you take the resistance with you and re-poison your energy, so to speak. And without having experienced the result, I would not have believed it... but it really works.
Exactly! And when you THEN rise, this rising is sooo different than if you would have "pushed and kicked" it up the scale.... it is PURE.Perhaps it's a matter of trust that in good time, my vibration will rise without any deliberate work on my part other than relaxing. Yes! I still need to un-train this way of thinkingParadise-on-Earth wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 11:52 am Strong minds and people who were used to get stuff done have a hard time to REALLY trust that relaxation brings a raising. This made me laugh because I think pushing and kicking my way up IS the energy I've been using in my eagerness to get results asap! And when you THEN rise, this rising is sooo different than if you would have "pushed and kicked" it up the scale...
Thank you for your loving, helpful words of guidance and encouragement! You are so appreciated!

awww!! I feel it the same for you. I LOVE your gentle, loving, eager, wise energy. Let's uplift each other- step by step... helping to let go what-was, and what is sooo "normal" and so not what we want anymore! Change in Love... what a beautiful way of living!spiritualcookie wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 12:27 pmYes! Re: Efforting to maintain a high vibration?
I have decided to split these into 2 things. It does seem to clarify things for me a bit. 1) Alignment sessions and 2) Meditation sessions
1) Alignment sessions - Effectively, I "effort" to maintain a good feeling for durations throughout the day. While doing so, my main focus is on feeling a combination or sequence of things like "happiness, joy, love, appreciation, well being" It has taken some practice but I can do this for several minutes at a stretch. I also keep track of how long I do this for, because it gives me confidence to know that I've deliberately felt good for certain minimum amounts of times each day
2) Meditation sessions - Here I basically just relax, be still and allow any thoughts to flow, now and then steering myself back to the main intention, which is to align with my vortex, and just be
So when split up, the answer to your question becomes easier. 1) By doing alignment sessions, yes there is efforting for this but because it is efforting to feel good and maintain it, its efficient and effective. 2) Then by meditating, you need apply no effort.
Why do both? I've found it is a bit like driving a car on a country road. The alignment sessions are the accelerator, since positive emotion is you really ramping up your alignment with your source and your power. The meditation sessions are like releasing of brakes, which would otherwise impede the car. So a sort of 1 2 or push pull method.

Re: Efforting to maintain a high vibration?
I like your idea of "Alignment sessions" and this distinction you make
My question about meditation is: If you're very very far from the Vortex, will meditation get you into the Vortex (which is REALLY high vibration!)? Is it truly a mechanism for such a quantum leap by just having no thought and relaxing? What about stored memories, deep beliefs and feelings that go beneath the level of conscious thought that aren't dissolved by relaxing and meditating without thought?

It truly is!
The old-time-paradigm is that without hard work, nothing is achieved.
Abe teach to the contrary, that all we desire (right NOW) is DONE. It is in the Vortex! We DID the hard work (mostly by default)- by sifting through the contrast, feeling the pain of the unwanted, the yearning for the wanted... all our step 1's CREATED the Vortex. Now our ONLY job is step 3: Relaxing, letting go of all our doubts and fears, and let your vibrations rise ALL ON IT'S OWN, where they naturally belong, and where they would go if we wouldn't cling to them and weigh them down with all our crappy beliefs.
And that is exactly what happens in meditation:
You pause your negative thoughts, and your vibration automatically (!) rises to where they NATURALLY are.
Have you ever "made Peace" with something? Accepted it (a significant 1. step!), and really let go of it? It works in seconds, and that is the same process as meditation!
Whatever your problem is, when you stop pushing against it, your vibration rises instantly, up to the top of the EGS, where Peace resides.
They are completely irrelevant- as long as you do not ACTIVATE them. According to Abe, modern psychology has done us all a huge disservice in teaching the fear of the subconscious! What about stored memories, deep beliefs and feelings that go beneath the level of conscious thought that aren't dissolved by relaxing and meditating without thought?
As long something is not activated, we have no emotional indicator of it. And so, let it lay dormant- it WILL stay inactive, with thousands of years (maybe even more millions...) of other not active beliefs.
As soon you HAVE an emotional indicator- the thing is NOT "unconscious" anymore. You can work with it, soothe it, heal it, but mostly LET GO OF IT.

Thanks for this POE - it's helpful
