All Germans have at least 4 years English in school, but it is often terrible. I get that. I literally started to truly learn English by transcribing song-texts that I was interested in, when I was a teen (nooooo internet or translating-apps etc around, anywhere!) ...I enhanced that, when I got into Abe and wanted to really get them. It is reallly hard work in the very beginning- writing down each single word you don't understand, finding the translation, and keeping it on a written list, until you are stable. Adding each day -in the beginning- dozens of not known words, but it gets fewer and fewer words you don't know, and it becomes easier and easier VERY FAST!I don't really understand many quotes and workshops or understand them differently than they are intended.
...While when you copy a whole text into a translation-app, you learn close to nothing- for ever.
Do yourself the favor and do the work!
It is as with the Abe teaching itself. Slow, steady progress that YOU DO- by involving yourself and doing what it takes so that you FEEL it and GET it, in an honest, gradual process of "becoming"... not just showing off the hollow un-earned "result"...
