Anyone here from Abetalk?

Post by Leah Southey »

It was a long time ago.
Things got a bit out of hand.
"Rodney" who ran it shut it down.
It'd be a buzz to find some Abetalkers have found their way here!

OMG. If this isn't a wink from the Universe I don't know what is. Hi Leah, it's Dawn. I've been lurking here for a bit and I saw this post. I still see (in my mind) the picture of you in a room full of reporters with that smoke in your mouth on a manual (?) typewriter.

Oh Dawn, I remember you too, and a pic you posted where I think you were halfway up a mountain or something!

This forum seems rather slow in comparison to the Old Days.

Yes, they were manual typewriters in that newsroom. xx

Who else?

Sierra. I see she's still making the most of life among the dolphins at Drake Bay.
Mariposa. Last heard of settled in Canada with Marcin and two or three small dogs.
Adal in Mexico. He used to call me mami. Aaaaah!
Crane, the writer.
Cigi, never shy of speaking her mind.
Mury He was a scallywag, wasn't he!
Skibbington von Skubber. He was another one who always called it like he saw it. Yowzer!

There are others... I can see their faces in my mind... but names? No.
I remember making a poster of us all. I'll see if I can retrieve it and post it here.

Couldn't find the poster, hardly surprising as I've had several PCs since then. However, I found a shot of my computer screen when the poster happened to be on it.

Now I discover I can't upload a picture anyway. :(

If you are in touch with any other Abers who would enjoy the forum - it would be lovely to bring them here to liven up the place :D

Spiritualcookie, I've lost touch with other Abetalkers. Dawn may know more of them.

Shame about the coffee cup on my desk  but luckily Dawn and I are both visible.

Hmm, I wonder where Dawn went?

Well, looks like I'll have to 'out' her. Dawn's second from the right in the front row, and I'm directly behind the woman with dark glasses.
We witnessed a sweet romance between 'Rodney' and Mariposa. Although Rodney was in Canada and Mariposa was in South America, they got together before our very eyes, last heard of together in Canada with small dogs as 'children'.
I know some but far from all names of the others. My memory's not what it used to be, and like I said, it was a long time ago.
But what a jumping forum! I was living in Australia at the time, so rather out of kilter time-wise with the Americans. First thing in the morning I'd have my coffee and start scrolling, before I even got dressed.

We were a lively bunch. I could do with that kind of energy here...

When I joined the old Forum in 2010, they where an incredibly joyful bunch! They seemed to skip and cheer and laugh and love and celebrate all the time, people freely asked questions and added their opinion...
and then, imo, it got "moderated" and there came a more harsh tone, disguised as tough love. Then bullies got allowed -in the sense: "you attract what comes to you" (which is of course technically correct. But, imo, it broke the spirit, and that was what the Forum, as a creation of many + the founder- each single one of all of us, attracted.) :o

I heard of moderators "that did not take prisoners", that where there before I came, so I guess there are phases in each Creation, an up and down. All the members "create" that. Nothing keeps being the same. I LOVED the lively, happy, joyful, and also lovely sheltered time I had the bliss to experience. I allowed that -obviously- for me, to experience and "know" it. I also am thankful for the times that I did not like, but (contrast always does this) -it made me enormously clear about what I wanted, instead. And it taught me by experience, how to deal with that: And I gave it my best, to really CREATE this what I wanted (which I succeeded with, and what was one of my greatest successes, in my life). "I did that, too".

So, a truly heartfelt "Thank You" to the bullies and to the Old Forum, of having been my indicator and my manifestation that helped me so much to become clear ABOUT ME!!

I wasn't surprised that the Forum croaked somewhen, as I had some contact with it's founder David, and he had lost his mojo long before he physically croaked. Imo, that showed directly in the Forum. It needs a Creator with a strong joyful, not shattering vision, or others who hold that vision and love and care, after the Creator croaks, to hold the needed vibe/attraction for such a lively Creation. BUT, it doesn't cut it to hint to others for not creating what WE, OURSELVES, desire. When we look at the vision that WE want, we can do so much more than to help the one, who created it originally (and keeps creating it further.) Each single one attracts all they experience by their own vibration!

Abe said, it takes only 1 person -and may it be the cleaning lady!- to keep up the good feeling idea and -vibe. "One who is in Alignment, is more powerful than millions who aren't. -Abe). I was obviously either not enough in Alignment to "save" the old Forum- or maybe, my big desire attracted this new Forum to me, which might have been the much better solution, on the perfect path of least resistance!? Maybe I, and all others who enjoy being, playing and working here, on the Forum 2.0, manifested Simon ;) :romance-hearteyes: to build a Forum with no negative history, but with pure respect and joyful love!?

Each single one CREATES and ATTRACTS what they give energy. :vortex: :hearts: We are SO immensely powerful!

You create your own reality!

Abe
