Hello dear admins , I have a problem with uploading images. I can't upload images from the internet, nor can I upload my own images using the attachment function. The image is accepted, but no green checkmark appears, and the "place inline" option does not appear either. It would be nice if you could help me. Thank you very much in advance.

Thanks for bringing this up

Hi FloatingBoat!
It seems to work fine for me, but as it's not working for you, I want to troubleshoot what could be the problem for you.
Can I ask you two questions:
- What is the file size of the image you are trying to upload?
- What is the file format of the image you are trying to upload?

Can you give me an example of an image link you are trying to attach to your post that is from the internet?

image links usually have a ".jpg" or ".png" or similar on the end, indicating it's an image. The link you provided seems to be a regular website link rather than an image link, so it's not recognised as an image, hence giving the error.
To insert the image link, right click on the image you want, find "Copy Image Link" in the little menu. That should put the image link into your copy-key. Then you paste that link here onto the forum as you have correctly been doing
In your example, the image link is: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DsrN_vrXoAAkVBu.jpg
So to attach it you would just put that in here using the "img" or "img-small" or "img-medium" buttons, to get this:
Hope that makes sense and helps!

@spiritualcookie
You are so lovely. Thank you
I don't have a Laptop or Computer, with my Smartphone(android) i don't find a solution to find the image link. When you or someone else has the easy way to make it happen, it would be a pleasure for me.
At the moment i can't incline photos with the attachement function, but i found a way to incline a photo online and copy the jpg link.
This is the first step and i am very happy about it. Thank you for your Informations. I understand the process and i will learn eveyday more to have better experiences with this Subjects and i'm so glad of all your lovely Informations.

Thank you SC! I was going to say that but you were faster But that's exactly right, to insert an image with the [ img ] tags, make sure the link you put in before the closing [ /img ] tag, ends with for example ".jpg" or ".png" or any other image format. It needs to be a direct link to an image, otherwise it can't find the image to attach.
That is curious. A 2.8 mb file should have worked, as the limit was set to 5 MB. I have now changed it to 10 MB though just to give some more space.FloatingBoat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 9:55 pm Hi,

Thanks for letting me know!
I found a setting in the control panel that said "Maximum drive space available for attachments for the whole board" and it was set to only 50 MB. I now changed that setting to "unlimited". I think that could've been the thing causing issues with uploading attachments
Could you try again if it works to upload attachments now?
