Happy Memory Lane (Join in!)

Post by spiritualcookie »

A great way to practice getting into the feeling place of positive emotions is to remember a time when you felt a positive emotion. As you recall it, it re-activates those good feelings.

I thought it could be fun for anyone who wants to join in, to share some happy memories here. As you remember your experience and write about it, you help yourself align! And who knows, reading your happy memory may even uplift others too! Or it may inspire others to remember happy things in their lives!

So please, feel free to join in if you feel inspired to! :hearts:

Mantecados in Majorca

Some years ago, I went on a father-daughter trip with my dad to Mallorca. It was just before Christmas time, but it being Mallorca, it was a very comfortable 15-20 degrees celsius or so - very pleasant. Lots of places in the city centre of Palma were decorated with pretty lights. My favourite sight was a little area with a fountain in the centre, surrounded by glowing trees.

The year we visited, my memory is that they had decorated some of the trees in the city with star-shaped lights to look like instead of being filled with fruit, they were growing stars! It was magical!

As my father and I were strolling down the pedestrian lanes, looking at all the shop windows, and enjoying the decorations, we spotted a bakery.

Now, I inherited my father's "foodie gene" so, seeing a bakery, we both immediately wanted to go explore what Mallorcan baked delicacies are!

What greeted us in the small shop was a type of cookie we'd never seen before. It was thick and round, cheerfully wrapped up like a giant candy or sweet.

The woman behind the counter explained to us it was a Christmas specialty and said we were very lucky to be on the island when these were available because they are one of her favourite things! Intrigued and curious, and not ones to pass up an opportunity to taste something interesting, new, and potentially delicious, we bought couple of these mantecados to taste.

Biting into them, I was surprised how soft and crumbly they were! They were melt-in-your-mouth in texture; fine; delicate; and gently flavoured with a hint of cinnamon. Another version was flavoured with a touch of lemon. I'd tasted butter biscuits before; afterall I live in Britain where they're famous for their shortbread, but these Mantecados were on a whole other level of deliciousness!

To this day, I sometimes dream of their crumbly, soft texture and the melt-in-the-mouth mouthfeel of them. The gentle hint of lemon and spice. The memory of their soft sweetness and gentle flavour sends me right into the Vortex!

Oh, spiritualcookie, you couldn't have given me a more beautiful gift today! This is the synchronicity of the century. My inner being told me, as you can read in one of my recent posts, that I should imagine the memory in which I was the most excited and then feel myself back into it. This excitement is supposed to transfer to other areas of my life. And now you're starting to create such a topic – that's grand! This is real-time manifestation. I believe so much magic is happening at the moment, it's just incredible. I am so grateful that you created this. This is a beautiful idea and fits exactly with what my inner being recommended to me. Thank you very much! :ta: :balloons_wave: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :nyan: :nyan:

I'm playing in the snow.

I want to start with the story of when I was happiest as a child and what excited me the most. That was at my grandpa's in the Hessian hinterland in central Hesse. It was the place I loved the most, where it always snowed a lot in winter. I must have been about seven or eight years old. My grandpa had a huge garden, and it was a winter full of snow. There were real snow mountains in the garden. I was wearing my purple snowsuit, and the air was so clear and so fresh. My aunt looked down at me from the window, and I will never forget that scene. For me, it's also a kind of symbol of what life is like. I develop in joy, and my inner being watches from above. I remember exactly how I rolled around in the snow and kept having new ideas. It was so much fun! I felt the fresh snow on my skin, lathered my face with snow, threw snowballs at my aunt's window, and she laughed. I built castles, felt like a knight, and swam through the snow like a swimmer. Sometimes I had imaginary snowball fights against others. I was all alone in a huge garden and felt so secure and safe, surrounded by these masses of snow. I also built a small igloo that I could crawl into and played that I was an Eskimo. I was so active, running around and rolling in the snow. I kept looking up at the mountains that were there at my grandpa's, full of snow. Even as a child, I totally enjoyed seeing this nature and was just overwhelmed and full of joy. My aunt waved to me again and again, and I waved back. Sometimes I threw a snowball laughing at her window. It was such a beautiful time, and I love this feeling of going back there now and being there again, at this place. It was incredibly beautiful, and I think that's why I still have such a good connection to snow today. There was no place I wanted to be more, and I played in the snow for hours. I didn't need anyone, and my imagination was huge. The snow was so cool and refreshing. Sometimes I swam in the deep snow and had crazy ideas. For example, I took the small rain barrel, where the water was completely frozen, turned it upside down on the ground so that the ice was like a table in front of me, and then I played as if I was having tea in fine company on the ice table. At some point, I started hitting the snow with a small pickaxe, pretending I was mining. I was so connected to my imagination and the snow and my surroundings and my smiling aunt. It's just a feeling of joyful playfulness, excitement, and security, and I will never forget that day. It's very nice to bathe in this feeling now.

This is me as kid with the purple snowsuit

These are very nice to read today, thankyou :D
My memory has something to do with going to the dentist tomorrow.

I remember a few years ago I needed a crown and the dentist made one in his office that fit that area perfectly and designed just for my mouth. When I go tomorrow/Thursday to get the new teeth done I am expecting the same perfect fit and look designed for my mouth.

So, it's a memory and a pre-paving this wonderful gift as well :D :D :D :D πŸ’πŸŽˆπŸŽ΅πŸ₯°πŸ‘πŸ˜Žβœ”
Seeing things to celebrate. Good Version, good version.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful memory! :in_love: :in_love:
I loved hearing how creative and imaginative you found yourself being in the snow!

As you describe this time, it reminds me of how wonderful it felt being little and feeling completely well and safe. The feeling of "all is well" being a very strong natural state of being! It felt like being enveloped in a warm, loving, safe hug or bubble all the time. πŸ₯°

And how so easily, effortlessly and even without conscious deliberate intention, the imagination just came to play! And it felt so good when I played with my imagination! It felt like pure flow! It felt so easy and FUN! And I always wanted to go back and play again and again. It was very more-ish! I loved this feeling of keen eagerness to play! This strong feeling of clear drive! Very clear inspiration to act! A very clear sense of direction!

My happy memory involving my imagination is how I used to play with my Barbies  I used to make up story after story for them. They were my actors and they played out so many different soap operas that I invented on the spot. The story ideas just flowed without pause! There was no point of saying "hmm what should happen to them now?" No! I just KNEW! As if the script was already written and my Barbies were just playing it out in front of me with my help. I loved this feeling of clarity and knowing! Of confidence; Of unstopping, unquestioning, flow! A state of complete non-judgement of my ideas and stories! Just unquestioningly going with the flow as it came!

I had one male Ken and several Barbies, so love triangles (or squares.. or more...:D) were a regular story line that came up! I was always a fan of love stories haha! The stories felt so dynamic, full of life, feeling, colour and brightness! The stories felt so alive! And *I* felt so alive when I let them flow through me!

My favourite storyline involved a drama where I tied a strong string to a Barbies legs and made her bungee jump off the stair balcony / banister from the third floor to the second floor  The reason why she had to bungee was different each time depending on the story. As she bungeed *I* felt the delicious excitement of it as if it was me bungeeing haha! It was a wonderful, satisfying time tapping into a sense of fun and imagination!

I particularly love how this all felt like time VERY well spent!

UPDATE: One of my jobs is testing products and writing product reviews. Guess what product I was asked to review this morning, right after writing this post? BARBIE merchandise!

I love seeing evidence of the law of attraction! :hearts:

It is so satisfying when everything slots into place so seamlessly; so perfectly; so comfortably; as if it's a completely natural in-born part of you! :hearts:

This reminds me that I once saw a vlog video on youtube where the mum interviewed her 3 year old son and asked him how his day was. He said something along the lines of:

Son: "I had a VERY busy day!
I went the to park! And I swung on the swings! And I went on all the slides!
And THEN we walked all the way to the creek!
And I threw stones in the water.
Some of the stones were VERY heavy! It was a LOT of work!"

Mum: "Oh! It sounds like you worked very hard today!"

Son: "I did! It was a very busy day!"

this is so soothing to read and feel.πŸ’πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘. Everything went really well and she even found one little tweak she could do to make them look even better. I go back next week and insurance will still cover it till the end of the year. My teeth have been a work in progress for a few years now, I went to her Dad but he retired at the beginning of the year and I'm so glad she is such a good match for me.
I loved that you had an awesome Barbie day :D :D
