Appreciate every day, yay!!!

Post by Sheila86 »

How my life is actually good right now

My husband just ordered an amazing Chinese meal for us that will soon be delivered right to our door. Isn't it wonderful that I live in a time where we get to just order ready-cooked delicious meals on our phone, literally from our couch, and they will be delivered right to our doors while they are still warm and yummy!

I went to a pottery course with my colleague yesterday. I love being creative. Pottery is such a lovely hobby. I like creating things with my hands. I made a mug, a big bowl, two smaller ones and a candle holder. It was nice to see what the other people came up with, too! I love to see creativity expressed through people. I am also glad that my relationship with my colleague has progressed to some kind of friendship that is warm enough for us to do free time activities together. I used to be very envious of her and almost dislike her because how young and beautiful she is. I am very glad that I worked on my vibration and my attitude towards her. Now we get along splendidly. I don't mind her being so beautiful anymore. I think of it more like how nice it is that such beautiful people exist and in some way it is also pleasant to look at such a nice face. I like that there are such beautiful people in the world. She deserves it! The human race is beautiful. Every woman is in her own way, re

This is my kitten inspired candle holder, lol.

While I am writing this, my said colleague, together with another co-worker, texted me and asked if I might join them for dinner and cinema in the time between Xmas and New Years Eve :) :) I like that!! I feel very appreciated :romance-heartbeating: . I am glad that these girls are apparently making me a part of their "gang". I am ten years older and they still want to hang out with me on their girl's night out. That really makes me happy :)

Actually, now I feel like my life really IS great!!!

aw I love seeing your pottery creations! :hearts:
The kitten candle holder is such a cool idea!

You're reminding me of something I've been wanting to try creating at some point with clay: A coiled bowl or plate of some sort. Or a cookie-cutter + coils design. It looks so fancy but I don't think it should be too tricky to make! Lemme find a photo of one or two to show you in case it inspires you too!

POE and Spiritual Cookie,
thank you so much for chiming in. I love that! I am glad that my writing is inspriring! :in_love: And I love that we get to co-create like that! :)
And I freaking adore these clay bowls!!! :romance-heartbeating: :romance-heartsthree: :romance-heartstiny:
That's such a good idea! And I, too, love the spirally pattern :)
I have been jokingly asking my husband for weeks to get me a kiln (haha) so I can do pottery at home and so that I don't have to book courses to get access to one. But this clay kind of looks like something that can made at home and is air drying, right?

I HAVE a kiln, I inherited from my aunt who gave courses. And, I got all her books to learn how to use it   ...I must admit, it sounded so much as an own profession that needs mastery and that didn't feel creative in the way that calls me, AT ALL... So, there sits the kiln since 20 years and I didn't use it, ever. And the clay that doesn't need burning never ever satisfied me! :eh:

But look at this pottery, that I find sooo amazing, and that I would like to have my own take on...

I did that on a few pieces, several years ago (see below). Rolling lace over the clay, and then mounting it together. That was fun! :hearts:

...And I soooo adore everybody who manages to produce more than 1, MAYBE 2 items of the same kind! :? :D

I have no idea  I'm sure the internet would have the answer somewhere though! As long as the separate clay bits hold together strongly enough it'll work. Perhaps there's a way with air dry clay to make it extra sticky somehow and press the pieces really firmly together. My logic says that maybe firing the clay may be helpful in making the bonds between the separate little pieces extra strong but - that's just a guess.

  I too prefer doing something different each time. For me the fun is in the variety!
Although I can see how mastering one thing and doing it over and over, seeing it get better and better each time, easier and easier, finer and finer, until it's astronishingly high quality can have some satisfaction in it too.

I like the idea of rolling lace over clay! I love your sweet cake platter and particularly like the hanging decorations! Though to be honest the cake is SO enticingly delicious-looking I can barely take my eyes off it to look at the platter  :hearts:

With your lace-rolling idea POE, you've made me think - I think that there are some embossed pastry rolling-pins that look lace-like that would be beautiful on clay as well

Ohh, this sounds so truly wise. ... and so not how I function!! :shifty:  Isn't it nice that everyone is a bit different than the others! :vortex:

Oh, this rolling pins are on my wish-list sooo long! I never saw where I could buy them. Now I understand that all that I was missing was the name "embossing-rolling-pin"- and the big shop with the big "A" in the beginning will deliver hundreds of designs!! I feel as in a candy-shop!!! I will use them for clay (SUCH an awesome idea!!!) cookies (at least next year) and for Marzipan!  :woohoo:

Sheila, your thread is on FIRE for the inspiration!!! Thanks both of you, so much for the ideas!!
