Day 4: Really great benefits so far. As usual, I can tell if it wasn't for this challenge I'd give in to the temptation to miss some sits or alot of sits.
Top benefit might be that negative momentum simply doesn't have a lot of time to build up for me before the next little segment of releasing. I'm getting home tired from work, meditate and feel a bit more awake and well, meditate again at 9.30pm and feel more awake still and have a much more fun evening.

Day 4:

MOOD PRE-MEDITATION: 6/10
MOOD IMMEDIATELY POST-MEDITATION: 6/10

I feel like the meditation gives me more of a framework which encourages me to do a bit more Abe work around the meditation time-slot too. Today I initially sat down to meditate but as I sat down, I sensed some agitation in my vibe and was then inspired to do a bit of channeling pre-meditation to ask what this agitation was about, and what to do about it to feel better. I received a lot of soothing words that soothed the agitation. It's nice to have this space of time for Abe work. Following the mini-channeling session I did my 15 mins of meditation as well

Updated Goal: 3 x 15 minutes sound meditations each day for 30 days. One of those sits is first thing after waking
Day 5: I feel like enhancing my goal for this where one of my sits is first thing after waking, which I've done today - and I can tell the rest of my morning is gonna be better now. Great thing about this challenge thread is I know I'm gonna really stick to what I commit to here - so I'm only updating my goal if I feel I can really stick to it.

This is true! They do love their air conditioning sounds / tap dripping sound meditation recommendations!
abrahammer117 wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 9:39 am If you are getting into monitoring thoughts, amending them etc. or doing anything other than taking your attention back to your meditation object then it's not meditation.
While many classic views of meditation are strict about "meditation = no thought", other teachers suggest meditation can be something other than this.

While this is outside the realm of Abraham's teachings, when reading about the Silva Method I learned there are 2 types of meditation:
1. Passive Meditation (this is the type Abraham suggest)
2. Active (or Dynamic) Meditation

I have experimented with both Passive and Active meditations.
I find that the passive kind is useful when I'm in a very negative state and cannot create anything positive in my mind at all that I can feel and believe (eg a thought like "all is well" feels annoying / not true, so it's not helpful), so "no thought" is better than any thought I have access to creating.

When I'm in a better state of mind, I personally find that focusing on a feel-good thought that I believe and feel aligned with (eg "all is well" / "I am allowing wellbeing to flow to me" etc) feels better to me, more soothing, more uplifting, than focusing only on no-thought. I like to go with whatever method feels better for me : )

The Active Meditation is quite a broad field, and can also include focusing on mantras, focusing on feel-good images in your mind, breathing in something positive (eg Love) and breathing out anything that needs to be released, or doing feel-good visualizations.

In active meditation, it involves a disciplined mind that doesn't just wander any which way that an unaware busy mind's impulses can take you, (which may take you down feel-bad. unhelpful or mundane roads like what you're going to make for dinner). It involves intense awareness, and focused, deliberate thought only in the direction which helps you feels good or better, and helps you to align.
Hi Cookie! Well written and I can agree alot with what your saying. It's a bit like cold showers - the more stressed I am the more they help :)
I'm probably in a more intense place right now as I'm relatively new to living off self employment so every day is forcing me to raise my vibrational standards. I'm also not in touch with any family members at all and growing in to this new phase of my life.
How about a compromise - if you're starting mood is a 6 or lower, give 15mins quiet mind a go before moving onto what you normally do

MOOD DURING MEDITATION:

UPDATE: Overnight I discovered another indicator of vibration: Dreams.
Let's just say based on my dream last night which indicated the discs of fear and unwanted things, it's good I'm doing this vibration-raising 30 day challenge!

good to know it's just an indicator of which vibrational disc we're on and can help guide us to what we may need to work on : ) I think for me it's an indicator I may benefit from doing some active soothing on certain topics alongside doing the meditation work.
I'm probably in a more intense place right now as I'm relatively new to living off self employment so every day is forcing me to raise my vibrational standards. I'm also not in touch with any family members at all and growing in to this new phase of my life.
:hearts: you got this! It's awesome you're in a place where it sounds like you're working on being joyfully self-sufficient - moving closer and closer towards thriving with the help of your spiritual work.
How about a compromise - if you're starting mood is a 6 or lower, give 15mins quiet mind a go before moving onto what you normally do
Sensible suggestions like these and rules can be helpful guidelines for me when I don't feel an inner sense of direction, or don't trust that my feelings are guiding me well. But where I am right now, rather than following a set rule regardless of how I feel in the moment, I think it's of value for me to tune in to feeling out what feels best at any given time, tune in to what my inner guidance is telling me, and go by that :hearts:

This exchange is inspiring some questions within me though - I'll try to do some channeling on this and will post it on my practice thread : )

Day 5:

MOOD PRE-MEDITATION: 3/10

MEDITATION OBSERVATIONS: As the meditation went on, towards the end I experienced a bit of that feeling as if I'm floating / lightheaded and felt a bit of that "can't tell your nose from your foot" thing.

MOOD IMMEDIATELY POST-MEDITATION: 6/10
It was noticeably significantly uplifting from where I'd started 15 minutes earlier!

Day 6: Overall feeling more stable. Again, very glad for this thread that it's keeping my thoughts committed to doing this every day. I'm looking forward to when it really moves into 'getting out ahead of it' territory.
My girlfriend has really seen a difference - particularly in wakefulness in the evening.
